a ‘momentary’ loss of focus…
I absolutely felt like I had lost a good amount of control earlier this week, and I may or may not have eaten an entire carton of Ben & Jerry’s, in one sitting, while Tom was away. I totally know what ‘fed’ the chaos, but then – miracle of miracles – there was a major shift towards the end of the week!
As days and weeks go by, we go through cycles… and sometimes we hit a cycle of ugh …
I believe these cycles of ugh might just be key moments – key opportunities. Sometimes we have to be swimming in the goopy soup of life, which feels like being stuck, (drags us down) in order to have some totally awesome things happen. AND … IF we have some of the right *stuff* in place… (systems to to keep us afloat/bouy us), AND we can remember the things that are most important so whatever energy we have is spent on the right things), we’re likely going to exit the chaotic bubble with something bigger on the other side.
///Aside – The systems aren’t even that complex – but they exist to allow us to live life more seamlessly… to reduce semi-trouble spots … to coast through the *stuff* of life in order to seize the *substance* of life.
The moment of chaos might just be necessary for the next breakthrough, or maybe just the next Aha.
The next time you experience the loss of focus, cycle of ugh, goopy soup, keep doing the little things – for me, it’s having a meal plan in place for the next day, being sure to do my 10 minutes of yoga, having clothes ready the night before. The little shi* effects the big shi* more than we might want to acknowledge…
Do you relate to any of this? In the comments below, tell me, what are the little things that allow you to excel where it REALLY matters?
